Chapter 9
Apparently, exp gain here was intentionally slow, but grinding was still worth it.
After all, leveling up in a safe environment while training was a massive advantage.
He had just been about to return and wait for the goblins to respawn when—
《Level Up! One Ability Point added.》
《You have reached Level 3. Meet your class instructor to advance your class.》
Finally!
Excited, he rushed back to Julius.
“I reached Level 3! Advance my class!”
He’s incredible.
Julius couldn’t help but admire him.
Out of all the beta testers, Justin stood out the most.
It wasn’t just his strong theoretical knowledge.
His adaptability and decisive action set him apart.
Most beta testers are still stumbling around, lost…
Right now, Julius was present in multiple locations simultaneously, guiding various beta testers who had chosen the path of magic.
Yet, even among all of them—
Justin was unique.
Even though Julius existed in multiple places at once, all his bodies shared the same consciousness in real time.
Across the countless tutorial dungeons, he had met many beta testers—but most of them had wasted their opportunity.
Some were scared off by goblins, which was at least understandable.
But then there were the ones who spent all their time mocking NPCs, acting as if they were superior because they were “players.”
Others bombarded him with endless questions, playing a pointless game of twenty questions instead of preparing for survival.
And then there were those who got drunk on magic, carelessly wasting spells left and right.
To Julius, they were all sigh-inducing disappointments.
They had three days before the world fell apart, and yet, they wasted their golden chance.
Do they even understand what’s coming?
He couldn’t fathom how people could be so careless when their very lives were at stake.
But then—There was Justin.
Compared to the others, he wasted nothing.
Sure, he had taken the first day off to wrap up loose ends in reality, but from the second day onward, his efficiency was flawless.
Every question he asked, every action he took—it all had purpose.
– “What is the typical range of most magic spells?”
– “It depends on the spell type and your magic stat. There’s no fixed answer.”
– “Does distance affect power?”
– “For projectile-based spells, yes. Buffs and curses, not so much.”
– “For buffs and curses, is there still a distance limit?”
– “That depends on whether it’s a low-tier or high-tier spell. Low-tier ones require touch.”
Even Julius, who typically withheld information unless necessary, found himself answering in detail.
Not because he wanted to help more than usual
But because Justin was asking all the right questions.
Many things wouldn’t be useful right now, but if he survived, this knowledge would prove invaluable.
And he wasn’t just thinking of short-term survival—he was already planning for the future.
His understanding of the dungeon’s true purpose also impressed Julius.
He wasn’t just killing goblins—he was analyzing everything.
He tested fire rate, range, power, and accuracy every time he cast Magic Missile.
At this point, he wasn’t just using Magic Missile—he was mastering it.
And most shockingly
While most players gave up grinding after a while, Justin had reached Level 3 through sheer effort.
“Perhaps someone like him is capable of rebuilding a fallen world…”
Suppressing his thoughts, Julius gave him a knowing smile.
“You’ve worked hard. Now, what class will you choose?”
Julius waved his hand, bringing up a transparent selection window.
It displayed three available class advancements for someone starting as a Magic Student.
“You have three options.”
The first was Mage, the default and most balanced path.
The second was Elementalist, a class specialized in elemental magic.
The last—was a Warlock, a class most players avoided at all costs.
- Mage– The Safe Path
“I don’t think Mage needs much explanation. It’s essentially what you already are now, just with more spell variety.”
It was the most balanced choice, neither excelling nor failing in any area.
This was why most players in the game had chosen Mage—it was safe and versatile.
- Elementalist– The Specialist
“Elementalist is a combat-focused magic class. It massively boosts the power of elemental spells, but at the cost of losing access to summoning and healing magic.”
An Elementalist sacrificed versatility for sheer destructive force.
Even basic spells like Fireball became devastatingly strong.
And once they gained access to Lightning Magic, few enemies could even survive their attacks.
But in non-combat situations? They were practically useless.
- Warlock – The Outcast
“…I don’t recommend Warlock.”
At this, Julius’s expression darkened.
And Justin understood why.
Warlock had an insane risk-to-reward ratio.
On paper, they were incredibly strong, having both diverse magic like a Mage and immense firepower like an Elementalist.
But the drawbacks were severe.
“First off, you can’t recharge magic through meditation anymore.”
Instead, they had to absorb life force or feed off negative emotions to regain spell slots.
In the game, Warlock had two ways to recharge:
- Drain someone’s health.
- Stand in a chaotic, war-torn area.
If they weren’t in a battlefield or crime-ridden city, they had no way to regain spells.
However, in constant combat, their magic recharged faster than any other class.
“In battle, you won’t feel the downside. In fact, you’ll never run out of spells.”
“But once the fight is over…?”
Who would they drain then?
“That means the only targets left would be… your allies or weaker survivors.”
“And what happens if you do that?”
Julius snorted.
“Your reputation plummets into the ground.”
World Breaker wasn’t just about personal power—it was a game about rebuilding civilization.
And in a game where order needed to be restored, a Warlock was a walking time bomb.
Once society stabilized, their role became obsolete.
Some groups might kill them on sight to prevent future problems.
“At worst, people will hunt you down before you even have a chance to cause trouble.”
“So, tell me—who in their right mind would willingly choose to be a Warlock?”
“There are people who would.”
“…Obviously not. No sane—wait, what did you just say?”
“I said, I’m choosing Warlock.”
“….”
