Chapter 146 Conflict breaks out, Level 1 takes action
“Elder Leon is here!”
“This is great! With Elder Leon taking action, forget about a mere Level 1 cultivator—even
among Level 2 cultivators, few could rival him!”
The moment the bald man appeared, countless disciples and elders of Albigensians Sect
revealed looks of reverence and awe.
This bald man was Leon Qiarro, not just any Level 2 cultivator, but one who had reached the
Peak of the Level 2 Realm.
However, despite the oppressive aura he radiated, Leon Qiarro did not immediately make a
move against Arius.
He could tell that Arius’s cultivation was merely at the Peak of the Level 1 Realm.
For a cultivator of such a level to brazenly storm the gates of Albigensians Sect, there were only
two possibilities—either he was insane, or he had formidable backing.
For someone like Leon Qiarro, who had steadily cultivated to the peak of Level 2, dealing with
Arius was no difficult task.
However, acting recklessly might bring unforeseen trouble upon himself!
Though Leon Qiarro had a rugged and aggressive appearance, he was actually extremely
cautious.
Of course… he still had to appear strong on the surface. After all, Albigensians Sect’s reputation
could not be tarnished.
“Junior, our Albigensians Sect upholds the righteous Dao. I will grant you one final chance to
live.”
“Tell me, which faction do you hail from? If our sect’s ancestors had any past ties with your
faction’s elders, perhaps we can spare your life.”
As Leon Qiarro spoke, his aura intensified once more.
At the same time, the Sect Master of Albigensians Sect, along with several other Level 2 Elders,
descended upon the scene.
Their spiritual senses locked onto Arius, as though ready to strike him down at a moment’s
notice.
Though Leon Qiarro’s words appeared to offer Arius a way out, in reality, they were nothing
more than a way for Albigensians Sect to save face.
If Arius truly had a powerful background, they could claim that one of their ancestors had ties
with his faction, thus justifying sparing his life and appearing magnanimous.
However, if Arius’s background was insignificant, then Albigensians Sect would eliminate
him—regardless of any risks involved.
As Leon Qiarro spoke, Albigensians Sect’s intelligence division was already operating at full
speed.
Simply questioning Arius was not enough to confirm his identity.
Albigensians Sect had its own intelligence network throughout Aragon Country.
They possessed information on various factions, both inside and outside Aragon Country,
though their strongest network was within Pyrenees Mountain County.
Outside Pyrenees Mountain County, their intelligence was less comprehensive, but they still
maintained a general understanding of regional powers.
Since Arius was once a disciple of Albigensians Sect, the intelligence division quickly used an
artifact to record his image.
In just the time it took to brew a cup of tea, they had retrieved nearly all of Arius’s records.
The moment his identity was confirmed, the expressions of Albigensians Sect’s Level 2 Elders
darkened immensely.
The Sect Master, a man clad in a flowing purple robe, exuding an ethereal and scholarly aura,
had a glint of murderous intent in his eyes.
At first, he had assumed that Arius was an agent sent by a top-tier faction to cause trouble.
Now that Albigensians Sect had aligned itself with the demonic path, many righteous sects in
Aragon Country were already restless, eager to attack under the banner of eradicating evil.
They longed for the opportunity to exterminate Albigensians Sect, seize its territory, and divide
its resources.
But to his utter disbelief, Arius was merely a former outer disciple, one who had been expelled
from the sect years ago.
In other words, Arius had no powerful faction backing him.
According to the intelligence reports, Arius had been banished from the sect only a few years
ago.
Yet now… he had gone from a mere Blood Tempering ant to the Peak of the Level 1 Realm.
It was clear—Arius had obtained some sort of incredible fortune.
Instantly, a greedy glint flickered in the eyes of many Level 2 Elders.
Previously, Albigensians Sect’s intelligence division had not even bothered paying attention to
Arius.
After all, he was nothing more than a worthless ant—not worth their effort.
Even when the De Molinos Clan conquered Purple River City and destroyed the Blood Wolf
Hall, Albigensians Sect had barely acknowledged their existence.
To them, a mere Level 1 faction was nothing more than a slightly stronger group of ants.
Only factions with a deep foundation, ones that had even produced Level 2 cultivators, were
placed on Albigensians Sect’s watchlist.
After all, only forces capable of nurturing Level 2 experts posed a genuine threat to Albigensians
Sect’s dominance.
“Die!”
A Level 2 Early-Stage Elder from Albigensians Sect was the first to make a move.
Compared to the other stronger Level 2 Elders, this man coveted Arius’s fortune the most.
The others were either at the Mid or Late Level 2 Stage… but he had been stuck at the Early
Stage for over fifty years.
If he couldn’t break through soon, he would eventually exhaust his lifespan and perish.
Boom!
The moment he unleashed his Level 2 power, the skies within a several-mile radius trembled
violently.
In his hand, a curved blade shot forth, soaring into the sky!
The moment the blade reached midair, it radiated dazzling light, rapidly expanding in size until it
stretched a full thirty feet in length.
Suspended above Arius’s head, the blade hovered for only a moment before descending with
lethal force.
As the Level 2 Elder struck, the other Level 2 Elders merely watched from the sidelines, making
no move to assist him.
First, there was no need for multiple Level 2 Elders to deal with a mere Peak Level 1 cultivator.
Second, every Level 2 Elder in Albigensians Sect was calculating and shrewd.
Arius had no background, and his strength was nothing remarkable.
However, any rational person without a hidden trump card would never storm the gates of
Albigensians Sect alone!
Thus, the elders were waiting… waiting for Arius to reveal his trump card.
Now that some fool had rushed in to test the waters, none of the others saw any reason to step
forward yet.
Most of Albigensians Sect’s Level 2 Elders and Level 1 Officers understood this game of power
all too well.
Only the sect’s younger disciples, who had not been in the sect long enough, remained oblivious
to the underlying schemes.
As they saw the massive curved blade descending toward Arius, some smirked in
schadenfreude, while others shook their heads or closed their eyes, unwilling to witness the
gruesome sight of flesh and blood splattering everywhere.
But in the very next moment… a talisman treasure, wrapped in purple lightning, shot forth from
Arius’s palm! A terrifying pressure instantly erupted from within the talisman.
Crackle!
As its power unfolded, the heavens dimmed, the sun and moon lost their brilliance.
Endless thunderbolts roared across the sky, instantly crashing down upon the curved blade with
overwhelming force!
The blade, which had been poised to cleave Arius in two, was obliterated on the spot.
